I tried getting help with this last time but didn't receive much response so here it goes again.

Does anyone else have the same problem I do with their wedge seat post getting stuck. I have had to remove my base plate several times just to get the post out. I change posts often from a regular seat to a butt seat and need to find a way to get the wedge posts out easier. Any ideas are surely appreciated.

By the way I cant put grease on the ends because I do change the post and with one laying around I would like to avoid getting grease on the carpeting.

Always a problem, heres what I do, carry a rubber mallet, stick a screwdriver down to hold the tab in, and wallop on the post with the mallet, still not easy but you don't have to take the base off the floor. Why can't they come up with a better system? I now have a ranger which has a different system and it is much better

There are lots of posts on this subject in the archive, so I'd recommend doing a search for stuck seat posts in Lund boats.

I've had to remove my seat bases once in my older Lund, but once I got the post out of the base I cleaned up the plastic taper-lock portion of the post with Armor-All, then I cleaned out the seat base with a rag and WD-40. With all dirt and residue gone, the posts come in and out easily. The caveat is that you don't want them coming out too easily or you might do a backflip next time you hit the throttle. When you start feeling them getting sticky again, just clean them before they start getting too sticky.

Good luck.

I know the instructions say not to lube the seat posts. I have had good luck useing a wet rag to wipe any dirt or sand from the post and base, then spray a light coat of silicone on the post.
