G Loomis bought by Shimano?

A rod builder friend of mine told me that Shimano bought G Loomis, is this true??

Has been a subsidary of Shimano for some time, and since then I can say I own 3 "Loomis's" never did see a drop in quality but availability that was a different story.

Loomis has recognized availability as a serious problem and they are working to solve that. Sounds as if they were spreading themselves too thin. They are working to take care of the backlog and then, when caught up, drop some models and other manufacurer deals so that they can concentrate on their line and their consumers.

they also quit making the tennessee handle after Shimano acquired Loomis.
