Over the course of the past 2 weeks we have had 3 large low pressure systems move in to our neck of the woods which ended up lowering surface temps from 68 to about 57 today.
Just as the lake was warmimg the smallmouth were moving onto their beds the bluegills were moving shallow and the crappies were just finishing spawning - when the temp dropped EVERYTHING moved out deeper.
Will the spawning resume once the lake warms back up or is this interuption going to end the spawning this season? I have located most everything back in the 16 - 20 foot depth range but the action is slow.
Also, anybody have any info on what seems to be a large jump in the Gar population around here??
Thanks
