Anybody have any suggestions as for weight and rigging - I would like to try to get down to about 20 to 24' Im thinking of starting with 3/4 ounce.
Also can I still troll some crankbaits or will I have to go too slow for the bottom bouncers?
Thanks

Good rule of thumb 1 ounce of weight per 10' of depth for trolling bounces. Keep your bouncers let out no further than 45 degree angle. I troll from 1.0-1.5mph and pull both harnesses and stick baits.

If it's legal try using a three way with a shallow diving crankbait on top and a 3oz bottom bouncer with a spinner on the bottom. Your covering several zones and presentations this way....

Thanks for the info - better head back to the store for some bigger lead - also thanks for the 3 way idea. I'll start rigging everything up while I wait for a new starter!

I thought I beefed up enough last trip to the bait shop by buying some bouncers up to 2 1/2 ounces and found out that I needed 3 and 4 ounce weights. Then I found out I didn't have haevy enough equipment for 4 ounce weights to effectivly catch fish. Some tough lessons prior to boards like this.
Good Luck,
