I'm taking the family in mid-July to Coppens Resort on Rainy Lake and I would appreciate any info on what to expect(cabins in good shape?,owners friendly & helpful?,where are some of the "better" walleye & smallmouth spots? etc.) Thanks for all your help!!! Mickey

Have stayed a couple of times at Rainy Lake Lodge. www.rainylakelodge.com..Part owner is Randy Morrison--Morrison Trucking- out of Alburnette Iowa. Nice place to stay-rates are less later on-and is nestled in a small bay off the main lake. Haven't been there in July, but would expect a crappie bite in Black Bay-esp.this yr.since the weather is later than normal. May be able to troll up some eyes in Black Bay also. When there in June we used the shallow shad rap in clown- flat lined behind the boat-eyes up to 8 lbs. in 4-5 feet of water. Normally I would expect the walleyes would be on the reefs that time of yr. If Randy is there he should be able to point you in the right direction-otherwise John should be of some help/.///
