I have the opportunity to buy a 2001 model Crestliner TS 172(Discontinued in '02). Circunstances are such the owner and his boat are located nearly across the country. Though familiar with the Fishhawk Series, I know enough this is a whole different animal.

The problem is....I have never seen one "up close and personal". I called a number of local Crestliner dealers to see if they had sold any in hopes of contacting the owner for a look and some input. None were sold around here (and I live in the Minneapolis area!).

If anyone lives near the Twin Cities area and owns one, and would not mind me coming to see it, please let me know. And, if anyone would like to share their experience(s) with this rig, it would be most welcome.

The hull is the same as a 1750 Sportfish with a Tourny series interior. You can probably get a reasonable idea by looking at a TS 182.

Ask him (the seller) if he will send you some digital pictures. There is one for sale in the classifieds here--I believe from Penn. He has posted on here a few times but I don't remember his name.

With some phots and the exact measurements you should get a good feel for it. I believe you will have a little more deadrise than the Fishawk series and thus a smoother, drier ride.

Live Long and Prosper

Good luck.
