I've been having trouble with the Pinpoint electric weaving back and forth in these newly flooded lakes that I'm fishing to such a degree that it doesn't track what you could call a straight trolling direction. It's probably because there is a lot of vegetation on the bottum and it doesn't get a consistant bottum signal combined with a lot of big rocks etc. I set the sensativity to 1 a few days ago but that didn't help.
Last nite I decided to try to set the Yamaha 4 stroke at it's slowest speed (1MPH) and pointed straight ahead to see if that would "push" that Pinpoint through those "stutter" spots. It worked perfectly!! I watched the Pinpoint do the directional work and the Yamaha provide the thrust. The boat followed whatever depth I programed in perfectly and was so hands off that while I was working (for more than 1/2 mile) (and possibly 30 minutes) on a 2 line snarl that was 2 Shad Raps and 30 ft of line, my son and grandson continued to fish and land 2 fish and no one ever touched a control!
I found I can change speeds with a slight adjustment to the Pinpoint when there is a wind or directional change.

My Pinpoint has made a big difference in a few situations where depth and speed control were the key to catching a few fish or a lot of fish at Little Bay de noc. Makes it fun.

Good Luck,
