Hello all,
What are the main differences/limitations (if any) between version 3 and 4 Pinpoint software onboard a 7520. I believe System 7 with
FlashChart, etc debuted with version 3 (?), but is version 4 required for In Sync functionality, or did it just provide, as Microsoft states, "maintenance upgrades?"
Secondly, I've noticed some comments that older 7520s many need not only a software upgrade, but also a screen upgrade, which costs near as much as a new unit. What vintage of 7520s does this apply to (production prior to 99, or 98, or earlier, for example)?
Finally, has anyone upgraded to version 4 (or later) recently, and if so, what were the costs, and where was it sent (if anywhere, given the PP/MG/Merc problems)?
Lookin' at a used 7520 upgraded once, to version 3, after purchase in June 2000 (?).
