Should be easy enough to detect. A cheap fuel pressure gauge and a coffee can is all you need. First check the fuel pressure at the carb fitting. Specs from a service manual should be readily available. Next, with the fuel line still disconnected and the tank side of the fuel line inside of an empty coffee can, start the engine for and run for 15 secs. Remember, the carb float bowl is still full of gas, so it will run for a little while. The fuel will begin to fill the can. You should get about a pint. If not, the fuel volume could be too low and cause starvation at higher speeds. Again, the fuel volume specs should be obtainable in a good service manual. Good luck!
