Considering a Lund 1675 tiller for walleye fishing. Is the boat too wide to troll and try to drag a jig? The way the seat in the back is set up it looks like you would need a longer pole than I like to use. Anyone have any experiences fishing out of one.
If you need a price on the boat reply w/E-Mail address and i can give you one.

hold on iadave. i answered your other post saying i have a 1675 tiller. do not put a 40 on it. dont believe a dealer that tells you its ok. my 60 is borderline, considered a 75. these two you can debate all day but do not go 40. you got a lot of cash out for this one, fully rigged about 17000. the boat price is just the beginning. if you have any specific questions just ask, ive done about everything to mine.

Hawg- Thanks for your help on this post and the other post. I was wondering about that size motor for a 1675. Because someone brought up storage problems I decided to go with the 1650 tiller with 40HP.
I feel that should be OK. Thanks for your help for this rookie.

A buddy has a Lund Explorer 1650 - had a Merc 40hp 2 stroke, then upgraded to a Merc 60hp 4 stroke and he is much happier with the 60.

If your mind is made up about a 40 HP it's made up, but for anyone else that is looking at this post this boat will be a water plow with a 40HP.
iadave-- that makes me sorry i didnt see your post earlier. my 60 is just adequate for that boat. my friend took his 40 back and really raised ##### with the dealer. they do that to sell an affordable package, thats all. get it back and make them trade you up.
iadave-- just wondering how storage effects you.??

I've got a 60 4 stk on my 1675 tiller and it seems to be about right. I can get 37 mph (gps) when alone and half a tank of gas. Mid 30's when I have more of a load. I'm not out to have the fastest boat, just a roomy, comfortable basic boat. I've got it in this rig.
I agree, a 40 would be disappointing on this boat.
Hawg, what are you running for a prop? I've got the Mercury 13 pitch and it seems to be good, but I would like to get a stainless and I was wondering if a 13 stainless would be about the same.
kwick stick-- i actually had two merc techs in my boat for about an hour and a half. great guys from the factory here for the big mille lacs tourney. they were just as curious as you and i to see which prop worked best. we tried a variety. the mercury prop-3 blade/12 pitch stainless was the overall best. 1-2 miles per hour slower than the 4 blade but better to plane, and a little slower backtroll also. im very happy with it. about 35-36 w/ 1 person loaded and about 32-33 with 3 people. this is just under 3150 rpms, about 2950-3000. alarm goes at 3150 and sometimes need to backoff just a hair but seems to be the best all around prop.

anyone else try various props?
What are you guys paying for a new Explorer, either 1675 or 1650 with a good motor?

buck--12659 then add tax licience and misc fees and you get to about 14500. this is with a 60 4stk merc and an upgrade to a good shorelander bunk trailer. all rigged im at about 17000. i looked everywhere and got better prices but then when i found they cant deliver for 4-6 weeks i went and found a dealer that had one and took it. i had dealt at about 750 less, but i wanted it now.

I can't even imagine this boat with a 40 hp motor. I just bought the 1675 Explorer SS with a 90hp 2stroke, it doesn't seem "overpowered" to me. I've got it up to 44mph (boat speedo) with me and a full tank, haven't gps'd speed yet. (would guess it's more like 39)
