I will soon be buying a hard tonneau lid for my 98 Chevy extended cab short box. I plan on buying the Leer #700 series as soon as it is available for the "old" model-style Chevy, pre-89. The #700 series is being promoted for its "quick release" lid. Instead of removing the 4 or 6 C-clamps to remove the lid, the #700 series has two fronthood-type latches at the front hindge points that are released with the pull of a "string" and then the lid can be lifted of the box. Is anyone currently using the Leer #700 series? How do you like it - does it work as advertised ...easy removal and good fit? Thanks
