I've been trying to call the Dunkertons(Waterloo, IA boat cover specialists) and they number has been disconnected. Does anyone know what's going on? If they have closed up where can I get a custom Aqualon snap cover?

Don't know what's up with Wersingers-Dunkertons but if you're interested in a custom cover made of Top Gun, a non-shrinking, waterproof & breathable canvas, contact Canseal Canvas in Cedar Falls. I have a Canseal Canvas cover and am very satisfied with it. I did a lot of research and they seem to be superior.

You also might try one of the leather shops in the Amish community near Hazelton, Iowa. They do excellent work and don't charge you an arm and a leg.

I can't help on what's up, but that would be a shame if they have closed up shop.. I've had 3 covers made there and they're all still in great shape today.

When it was transferring from Wersingers (and they were out of town), I was lucky enough to find someone on the board here that drove by Dunkerton's to get the new # for me.. Maybe we've got a Waterloo/Cedar Falls person who could swing by and see whaz up?

I live in Cedar Falls, but I'm not familiar with the business. If you give me some more details about it, I'll be happy to investigate it for you.

Doug and Jan Dunkerton (I think it's Jan)run this business from their home building custom boat covers. They just last summer bought out the business from Wersingers down the road (who have since moved to Missouri I think).. The address I see is 516 Martin Rd. It's in the general vicinity of the old dog track.

Not sure if anyone has tried their home #, but it's 319-234-6343.

Good luck.
