HI group-
Looking at picking up a new rig and came across a 2001 Ranger 619 that looks good, at a decent price. Only issue that I have with it is tha fact that it sits on a single axle trailer. I was at a tournament recently and noticed that every 619 and 620 was on a dual axle. I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on this. Is the 619 too heavy for a single axle???

Mr. Breeze,
Don't be afraid of the single axle handling the 619. I ran the same rig last year and had no problems with it. It sure was easier trying to get it in and out of the garage with the single axle. I now have a 620 with the dual axles and am building a new garage just for the boat so I can back it straight in. Just be sure your tongue weight is right as you can get more sway with the single axle vs the dual.
Good luck on your boat shopping, the 619 is a great boat.

I have a Yarcraft 1895 Storm on an Eagle single axle - I'm guessing the weight is comparable. Thus far, no problems whatsoever.

Mr. Breeze,
I too posted the same question about a month ago because I was looking at a 619 in Northern MN with single axle. Most guys said the trailer won't sway as much with double axle at high speeds. I called Ranger to discuss modifying single axle trailer to dual axle. They told me no way, buy a new trailer or keep single axle. Because I travel many miles often I decided to go with the dual axle. Just put it into my garage last night for first time. Its not a problem pushing straight back by hand or pulling straight forward, but I can tell you this, I couldn't move the tung from side to side as many posts stated because the dual axle wheels work against each other. One post told me to place a floor jack on wheels under one of the axles and raise the axle off ground, then the boat will push around just like a single axle trailer. I don't think I'll have to go to this, but its a thought.
Did you sit out there with it all night, to keep it company. It may be home sick, you now. LOL (I know I'm catching it for selling it, from the boys) Maybe they ought to help with the payments, huh?
Best of luck with it.
