Anyone using a Minn Kota Vantage transom mount motor? I am considering one for a boat I am putting together, and would like to know your experiences positive and negative. 12vdc or 24 vdc.

Thanks

I have owned one for 2 year, love it. It is one of those things that makes your fishing experience just that much better. Any thing in particular you want to know?

I have a 24 volt Vantage on an 1800 pro v tiller.Could not be happier with it.Has never used more than 50% of battery of charge in an eight hour day.Gotta love the 4 to 1 steering ratio! However,I have heard of a few problems with the printed circuit board.I haven't experienced any yet.You won't go wrong with a 24 volt, plenty of power to move my boat around.

Ditto Jeff... I have a ProV 1900 and I love the thing. I have a 9.9 kicker also and use it very little unless trolling mud flats on Mille Lacs or LOTW. My Vantage does most my backtrolling and jigging control.

The unit performs very well and I have had no problems yet.

Fish for them all...

Thanks guy's for the responses!

I just wanted to make sure that there were no big issues that you have run up against. Can anyone tell me the approx weight of the unit? That spec is not listed anywhere, which has made me wonder. Anyone running the 12vdc version? I want to use this on a new light weight (880) 18' tiller boat, and I am trying to keep the overall weight down.

Thanks for the help

I have the 12 vt on my 1650 Explorer. It moves it nice. I would say it weighs 40-50 lbs.
