Hi Mark..We've only hit Oneida once so far. I guess the fish were (or still are) in the shallows. Being mainly a troller, we didn't fare too well. I did pick up a 19# carp though! I've talked to a few guys that have done well by jigging and casting the shallows. They're actually getting some nice size fish out of there. We may try Oswego this coming weekend. Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

If you're thinking about heading to Oneida Lake, concentrate on the areas around Bernhards Bay, Cleveland, Shackleton Point and Oneida Shores Park.
Those areas have been producing good numbers of quality walleyes since the opener in May.
There's been better afternoon / evening action on the North Shore and the fish are anywhere from the shore out to about 12 feet.
Apps Landing in Cleveland has been loaded with baitfish and the walleyes are cruising in and out pretty consistantly throughout the day and night.
Shackleton Point has picked up the past week as the winds shifted from the south to the north again and the fish are scattered but aggressive. Been catching a lot of white bass and sheepheads in the area too.
The rockpiles in front of Oneida Shores Park has been real hot early mornings but dies right down as soon as the sun gets up a little bit. Fish might be moving towards the channel during daylight hours.
Take your pick on baits !
Jigs, stick baits, worm rigs, they're all working right now.
It's been cool up here so the jet ski traffic is minmal so far.

Good Luck !
