Dry sound at startup.

I have a 175 efi, and it briefly sounds 'dry' at startup. It is sort of hard to explain the sound. Is it possible the impeller would make this noise? I started it by mistake while the motor was trimmed up a couple of times for just a brief second, and it seems to have started the noise since then. The sounds goes away in a split second after startup.

I'd say yes, it is dry at start up, at least if it been setting a while since the last start up. How does the pee stream look when she's running???
