What are your likes and dislikes? Are they well run? do they draw a lot of boats?

I have fished several and was not impressed. The boat numbers were low (60 to as few as 12). Payouts are not good with that many boats. No hype during weigh-in. The only positive is that if you need a reason to go fishing then register.

The Tournaments on the Mississippi River at Red Wing will have around 100 boats. I hear the others ones are doing ok also. There is a new Mississippi River North and a new Mississippi River South circuits that are just getting started this year and look like they will grow bigger in the new year starting this fall. Bill

I don't fish the USFA but if you want a point in the right direction try this one. The world Walleye assoc. has a 80% payback to 15% of the field. That beats the USFA pay backs. Go to www.worldwalleye.com to see if they are coming to some waters around you soon and Good luck!!

I just started fishing the Lake Erie USFA this year. There haven't been many boats thus far in the 2 I've fished. What I like about it is that it allows the working stiffs like me a chance to compete locally without having to travel all over the place and then finding a partner that can match that schedule.

Being new at tournament circuits I really don't know why they don't draw more boats, there are super fishermen involved and Dave Kidd (director) seems friendly enough. It seems like the perfect format for the working folks.

I've fished the USFA and the boat numbers are real low, only 12 boats max. What a shame! I believe it's do to the lack of advertising > They don't do any. The people who do fish them are great folks though!

I fished all 6 regular tournaments in Team Walleye in Wisconsin and this is my 2nd year. Every time we had a full (50+) field in the contest and at Winnebago we had around 100 boats each day. I recommend this tournament series very highly. Every time I fish and talk with fellow tournament fishermen I learn something to helps me fish better. I never will be a fulltime Pro-fishermen as my job $ and life (3 kids) is too hard to give up to follow an MWC, PWT or RCL trail. But for a regional tournament trail it helps me satify my fishing fever and thrist for fishing knowledge. Further, I have thought Wayne has done a very good job as other posts this week have also given him a thumbs up.

The Mississipi River USFA tournaments started last fall. There were very few teams at Red Wing(under Two dozen) and with such poor turnout did not bother going to Alma or the rest of the sites.

Team Walleye is about done here in S.D. WE used to get at least 60 boats per tournament. After a team from Brookings won the Nat'l Championships and was unable to collect their boats and motors because of the OMC bankruptcy. Team Walleye bacically told them to bad and did not work very quickly to resolve the issue. The first tournament had 13 boats and the second torn. had 23. Wayne has got himself spread so thin he is trying to have tournaments very late in the year and very early. I just dont see USFA getting any better here
