I would like to know what prop you folks with Yamaha F-80 outboards are running. I am interested in one and curious what pitch you can turn with one of these at what rpm. as a boat comparison, i am running a 16.5 foot alum 81inch beam around 1000 lbs.
Thanks for you input.

You should be able to turn a 17 - 19 pitch prop. My setup is a 17' 8" with a typical running weight around 2300 lbs. I also have the F80 and get 5500 - 5600 rpm's with a Turbo 1 SS 15p prop. An aluminum 16p got me 6100 rpm's, a Turbo 1 SS 17p got me 5300 rpm's. Check out http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/otb/perfbull/4strokeperf_02.html for performance bulletins.

I've got the same boat as stormsearch and get about 6000 rpms out of a 17 black stainless yamaha prop. Drops to about 5800 with a load.

I ran a Turbo SS 15P with approx.2500Lbs. load and got 5400-5500RPM.You will probably be able to go up to a 19P.
