Needing to replace the bunks on my trailer because I have some sag between the first and second supports. Anyone know what or how I can install the new bunks to prevent the sag again. Thought about turning the bunks vertical instead of horizontal but not sure how I could attach the bunks to the support. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jose

Try bolting a piece of angle iron, to the bottom side of them. This will help stiffen them up, somewhat.

You might want the bunks to give a little rather than beat up the boat on bumps.

Hi Jose...
Are the bunks sagging away from the boat when it is on the trailer?
If they are, for the most part, touching the bottom of the boat , especially in their mid-section, you are fine. But, if they are drooping away and not supporting the boat..replace them, as they aren't doing their job.
Sometimes the bunks look pretty saggy when the boat is not on the trailer, because the bunks have conformed to the shape of the hull that sits on them.

Rather than using 2X4's or 2X6's for the bunks - us a 4x4 or a 6X6.
You will still easily mount the bunk, and you will get no sagging.
The weight difference is negligible on a fully loaded rig.

I use treated wood. I've found this to work very we..
