It is with a big sigh of pride, relief and sadness that I witness my twin boys graduation this weekend. It marks the end and beginning of two milestones for them and us (The wife and I)
Since they have been my hunting and fishing partners, amongst many other things, for 10+ years, it will be sad to see them go. It is with teary eyes that I think about the changes around our house. In the same respect, I am excited for them and the adventures that lay ahead for them. I am thrilled at the idea the they will return with new insights, stories and purpose. I am also exited about the prospect that my PopTarts and orange juice will last more then a couple of days.<grin>
One to MN Air National Guard(133rd Airwing) and the other to Bemidji (Conservation/Forestry???)
Ahhhh, Congratulations and have fun boys!

Give them my congrats, Eric.
Oh, and remember....the stories you hear aren't gonna be the half of it!!
Congratulations Eric!
Now it will be a new set of worries. Dave in Minneapolis is right. You'll only hear the edited version if you hear any of it.
As I left home, married and had kids, I grew apart from my dad. Still had lots of phone contact and periodic visits, but I never really got close to my Dad until I was "established". Then we returned to the annual hunting outings and some fishing trips. I have learned more about him and respect him even more. Now on rare occasions, he lets his hair down and tells me of some of his escapades in his youth, military, etc. I think I was at least 40 before I discovered that my Dad was just as crazy as I was. Perhaps the same hold true for most of us. At least I hope something similar happens for you Eric!
Take care, and no minors drinking at the celebration!

Since you hail from Eagan, I was wondering which High School AuquaMan? My youngest son Mike graduated from S.E.S. (the zoo school) last night and my nephew is graduating from Eastview. Mike is also going to Bemidji (he only looked at colleges on lakes). He wants to major in fisheries biology.
They may grow away from us for awhile but I think it was Mark Twain who said "When I was 17 I couldn't believe how foolish my father was, but by the time I turned 22 I couldn' believe how much the old man learned in 5 years."
Best of luck to Jake, Joe, Mike (Marbleyes on WC) and all the rest of the class of 2001!!! Pat K

Say I grew up in Bemidji and wish I was still there to this day but I will have to settle for retiring there in 25 years.
That is a very good school and a great place to live. Some of the best eye fishing in the state.
Congrats to both of them.

Congratulations to you and your kids! Both of mine are done with college now and finding their way in the world. As they get older, you are going to discover 2 more "best friends" in your life. The times together might be fewer, but the they will be much better than you can imagine. Take care

Way 2 go guys.
I also have 2 sons and also named Jake and Joe who is 18 months older and was born on my birthday! Both recently married, one 5 minnutes away the other 5 hours away.
The next big family fishing venture will be with grandchildren...getting old does hold some advantages.

Congratulations to Jake and Joe! I can proudly say that I have known them for a decade, and they are great kids. You have every right to be very proud. Tell them "Hi" from the Bockmans and good luck!

Hey thanks, Gary. Sorta sad to think that the old football booster group is done. Did you see Perry Good's stats up on Mille Lacs. "He done good." I saw him last week at the track banquet and he was nervous about the new slot. But look at him now.
Say hi to Randi and the kids. You guys have a great summer and we'll see ya on the water.
