I am in the process of buying a 50 hp LS TT TILLER Merc 1993 3 cylinder. price $2750.00 I just looked at it and it is in excellent shape at a merc dealership that comes with excellent recommendations from a couple of good fishing partners. My questions are:
1. any comments good ar bad on this engine?
2. how does it troll down?
3. Does it have good power @ WOT?
4. any issues with the motor long term? prone to some particiluar problem?

Thanks!

The boat is a 16' lund remodeled like the old pro anglers were....

I had a 1992 Tiller 50hp 3 cylinder on a 15 foot
Skeeter tiller bass boat. It worked well for me for 6 years before I sold it 3 years ago. My WOT was 32-34 mph with a full load. It did not troll slow enough for me. I ended up installing a drop down trolling plate. The 4 clyliner version (Classic 50) does troll well. The only problem I experienced was a burned out relay that affected the charging of my main battery. I changed it for $30 and I never had any other problems.

i had a 95 merc 50-3cyl....it was on a 16 foot
smokercraft (tiller)....it trolled slow enough
backward.
i bought it new and sold it to a buddy in 98.

ran great....one problem i had was a bearing in
the lower unit didnt get grease for whatever
reason. (my mechanic couldnt figure it out)
i put one bearing in and the guy i sold it to
put one in.

i ran the motor alot and other than that one
unusual problem nothing else ever went wrong.
