Deep weedlines/dropoffs

What is the best way to fish deep weedlines/dropoffs when motor trolling is illegal. When it is windy I am thinking drifting slipbobbers or bottombouncers. If it is calm I am thinking casting cranks, if not too deep. Or vertical jigging jigs or bladebaits. I will be searching for fish and then working a spot once fish are located. Would you use one presentation to find fish and another once they are pinpointed? Any insight you might have would be appreciated
