View Full Version : Roy Lake S.D. ???
A guy at work was talking about Roy Lake at shift change and I get to see him very little. I would like any info I can get on this lake. Thanks!
Roy lake is about 1800 acres and was known as an awesome lake that actually outproduced lake oahe in the 70's. It nearly went dry in the 80's and suffered a bad winterkill in the early 90's I forget which year exactly. Water levels returned to full and way over full in 97 and has been somewhat overfull ever since. People have been optomistic about there being an explosion of great fishing happening there but so far it has been pretty slow.
Not that you can't catch some good fish there but fishings been nowhere near as good as many of the other area lakes especially waubay which has been red hot for a couple years now. hope I helped.

I fished it during Memorial Day Weekend. Lots of Northerns and Walleyes, also a few Smallmouth Bass. Had a nice time, the State Park is nice and there are a couple of resorts there too. I usually make it up there 2-3 times a summer.
