Lake of the Woods, specifically t.he Northwest Angle, stay at Sunset Lodge on Oak Island, one block from Ontario waters, doesn't get any better, all the fish you can handle, just my opinion.

Ernie Leuenberger runs a great service out of Nakina, Ontario. First of June may be a bit early, but you might want to contact him. Wonderful family business, they take great care of you and have outpost camps as well as a lodge - all fly-in. m

Ditto on LOW but I would suggest the east side just because the drive is easier if you are from the MN/WI area. I just got back from the Morson area and was very please with the drive and the was totally thrilled with the fishing. Get the Seasonal license if you want to bring 4 fish home. The Conservation license only allows 1.
We stayed at Buena Vista and the crew could not have been nicer. Great Northerns in Obabacon (sp) Bay and the Walleyes were in 5'-10' around the islands all that week. With warmer temps they might be moving a little deeper, but the islands will still yield some of the better fishing.
Anyone interested in a great trip, that was tops on my list.
