Has anyone tried any of the prop guards such as advertised in Cabelas?
If so, did you notice a loss of motor efficiency?

Can't say about the river runner and such that they have in Cabela's catalog, but I use a K&D PropGuard on my 25 merc on my jon boat. It does definitely help with protecting the skeg and prop, especially on rivers. I have not noticed a drop in performance, but I have to say that is hard to say as I don't have a speedometer or tach or anything to gauge performance and going open throttle on a river makes it seem like you are doing 60 mph anyways.
