On sunny days the screen on my Lowrance 350A gets very dark and unreadable. I have tried adjusting it with no change. What is causing this? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? Any help would be appreciated, Thank you

Happened to me once on my LMS350A, you need to keep it covered when on the trailer or when not in use. What happens is the sun will fry it if at the right angle. Mine was under warranty but you will need to send it in and they can repair it but there is no fix on your end. Just keep your boat covered or get a cover for the unit to use when not in use. Good luck.

I have had the same problem. I purchased a sun visor for
the 350a and map 2000. Check out this site. I talked to
a pro staff once from Lowrance and he said they never fry but
I tend to not completely believe that as mine has down just
what your talking about but have not had the problem since it
got covered. http://www.bmprodfish.com/covervisor.html

One of my 350A's and an old humminbird did the same thing. A very damp but not soaked towel laid over them corrected the problem pretty quickly. This only happened during the dog days with no wind.

Thanks Guys, Now I know I am not the only one with this problem. It is correct that the only time this happens is very bright sunny and non windy days. I have one of those covers but never use it, I WILL NOW.
