Need info on old (1968) OMC I/O drive

I just picked up a very nice 69' Slickcraft SS195 with an old OMC I/O. I know outboards but not inboard/ outboards. What kind of lower gear lube does it use? How do you test it out of water, there are no side intakes. How to check for problems before putting it in the water? It has a Buick V6 (eeccchh)...but seems to start & run ok. I have never had it in the water. Where is the oil drain?...Thanks for any help offered....<*}}}}}<<

You need to take a trip to an OMC dealership whose mechanic has some gray in his hair.
That I/O unit may be one with an electric shift, and they take a different gear grease.
If something breaks, you may have to find parts at a marine salvage business.
