As I am finalizing my 620 layout, I am leaning toward a 36 volt setup. Looking thru the WC classifieds I see many boats having 5 batteries on a 36v system. Being just a ham and egger, I understand what 4 batteries are for. Are they dedicating one battery for cranking and one for electronics( three for the tm)? Is this to eliminate interferance from the trolling motor on the electronics?

Your assumption is correct about the set up. My boat has five batteries. Three in the front for the Pinpoint, two in the back which supply starting power and electronics/accessories. I have a master switch so can charge both while motoring if I have it selected that way. You just don't want to run both batteries down while fishing at night and supplying lights as well as electronics and then not be able to crank your main engine.
