looking into getting a accura 240. seems like a great unit for the cost. 240 pixels, good power for 50' (+-) inland lakes, features, etc. don't need the gps stuff. any feedback or opinions on the unit would be great. thanks.

I have the Eagle 240 and so far its been a good depth finder if you want it to tell you speed&distance you will need to get the distance atachment that goes on your boat, there about $40. I fish on the great lakes and it has very good resolution for what I use it for. Hope this helped you!!

What's the difference between the Eagle Accura 240 and the Eagle Optima? (I haven't read the specs on the Accura 240, so this may be a real easy question to answer.)

The Ultra Classic Plus is basically the same body and format minus pixels and wattage, as the Optima and the Accura. Oh yeah minus some cash also.

Is it as sensitive as the Garmin 240? I've heard that one will pick up your jig.
Thanks for your help.

Just a note.....I believe the Accura 240 is around 600 watts peak, but I could be mistaken. The Garmin 240 is 3200. My Garmin will pick up a 1/8oz jig and minnow in 50 feet of water. Was doing just that last weekend Laker fishing. Take it easy

the Eagle Accura and the Optima both have 240 pixels and 600 watts power. I have the Optima which is being discontinued I had mine along side a Lowrance x85 and the Accura, the optima and the X-85 screen looked the same very sharp the Accura had amore green to me harder to see. I like my optima good arches and sharp screen
my thoughts on them. Virg
The name only -
The units are identical on the inside.
Take care

I just purchased the Accura 240 this spring. I am very happy with it. Good resolution, nice arcs. I was fishing out by West Sister Island in Erie in 29 fow and my erie dearie showed up on the screen just fine. For the money I think it is a fine unit. I almost went with the Garmin 240 but I got the Accura for about $40 less. While the Garmin has more power, I didn't consider that important for the kind of fishing I do.

Thanks! I had a suspicion. . .wonder why they changed the name? That would make the Accura 240 an excellent depthfinder for many (most?) applications.
