My best advice would be to stay away from this resort all together. I have been there twice. The first time was avernight at there hotel. The bill was almost three times what was quoted to me when I checked in. The second time, I payed for a four hour launch and we were back on the dock after only three (weather was not an issue). I have found several other launch services around the lake since then and they were all friendlier and more knowledgeable than Eddy's. Just one guys opinion.

I can't speak for eddy's launch. Try the twin pines launch the people at twin pines are super nice. You get no suprises and the food is great at the resturant. If you see Phil and Steve at the bar tell them the colorado walleye guy says hey!

I called them about a week ago and asked about availability of lauch and a room for a couple nights for me and my family. Their prices for the motel was fair, ($69 a night I believe), but I decided to stay at a cabin at Rocky Reef since I would have a kitchenette and everything for only $85 a night. We had decided to stay only two nights but the evening bobber bite was so good that the kids talked me into staying one more night even though we had to be out of the cabin. I went to Eddies and asked for a room they had quated me for earlier in the week and lo and behold, the room was now $119 a night. Same room! I decided to drive the four hours home after getting off the lake at 10 p.m.

When I first called them about the room, I also asked about a four-hour launch since the kids have never done this before I thought it might be fun, and I figured they are hurting for launch business due to all the new regs. I kinda thought I would be doing them more of a favor than anything since the launch business is very slow. I asked the guy if he would cut me a deal if I brought my whole family, and my youngest two boys are only 6 and 4. He snarled that "business is business" and they are losing enough money due to the regs so he wasn't going to give me one dime of discount. Left a bad taste in my mouth and lost all my business. I was ready to drop $100 bucks or so and the guy really rubbed me the wrong way with his attitude.

Eddy's is for sale and has been for some time.

I stayed there on three different occasions, have fished on the launch on two different occasions, and have eaten at their lake front restaurant more times than I can count -- Not a single bad experience for me in the whole series of experiences. No surprises as to price, no surprises as to service, and consistently good food (esp. walleye and their breakfast specials). I believe it's a fine operation

Incidentally, can anyone confirm the note about Eddy's being for sale? It wasn't last October when I was last there.

I have also eaten at their restaurant and it was fine. This last experience was the first suprise I had and it seemed like everyone was grumpy for some reason. I'll try to find the link where I saw it for sale.

Went to the site you gave -- if that isn't Eddy's it's the most accurate duplicate I've ever seen. That is a surprise. Thanks for the update.

I have to agree with Fish-on. This place has started to be all about the money. I have been going there for many years and all of a sudden they no longer care about the customer. I was there earlier this year and when I launched my boat I inquired about the price of a room. Was told it was $69 dollars for the night, I told them I would take it. I went out and fished all day, came back just before the night ban took hold and was told that they had misquoted me the price and that it was actually $99. THIS IS ON A MONDAY NIGHT!!!! Right!!! I ended up driving home that night and I haven't been back/will never go back. HMMMM!!!! I wonder why it's for sale??????????????????????

I would have to agree with Dave, during the summer I stay at Eddys weekly and have not only never had a bad experience, but couldn't possibly think of a negative if I had to. I would recomend calling either Dave or Arlene Bently if you feel that you were wronged and I gotta believe if you truly have a legit complaint they will do everything possible to make you happy. Good luck, Matt

Likewise, I spend many weekends at Eddy's. They're some of the best people I've had the pleasure of staying with. I only live an hour and a half away and usually end up staying there because I get treated very well.

P.S. they have the best bacon-double cheeseburger on the lake.

Ditto to the guys above.
I'm there seemingly every weekend and I've never had a bad experience and don't expect I will.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong staying at Eddy's.

Look at the parking lot when there's a tourney on the lake, its wall to wall boats in both parking lots. They cater to fishermen and do a great job.

I agree with Paul, their food is great too!

We had our Walleye Central on Ice there in February, and things went very well. Dave was a great host, and supplied us with everything needed. The rooms were great, the food was super, and everyone was very friendly. I am sure if you had a bad experience there, Dave or Arlene would like to hear about it. I really think they would like to hear your concerns, if something didn't work out as you expected.

Give them a call, and Good Fishin'
