I have a Raytheon 520 and want to connect the unit via NMEA to a Global Map 1600 to send waypoints to the GM1600. Does anyone have any insite on how to do this? I know it is possible just not sure how it is done. Thanks

Give both customer service at Raytheon a call as well as customer serive at Lowrance.

In both cases, each unit has a single wire that is the Nema interface wire. Basically, all you have to do is to connect a shielded wire between each unit - for this particular signal. The shield on the wire, will be connected to the ground connection of each unit.

Then, you need to go into the menu of each unit and enable the data transfer.

The exact procedures should be spelled out in detail in your instruction manual.

I believe that for the Lowrance unit, you simply go into the GPS setup menu and select the "enable Nema" button to turn on the interface.

Good luck
