I just bought a 2000 pro v ifs. The question I have is what do you do with the top when not in use. I tried to lay it down in the back but it interfears with the bait well. I seen some pictures of some boats with it standing straight up in the air. But I don't think I can do this on mine. Thanks in advance.

I have a Fisherman with a top. When the top is not being used ( most of the time ) It lays on the floor with the top part snapped to rear deck. Its snapped to the vertical side so it does not get in the way of the storage areas or rear livewell. it does get in the way of the rear battery and access area to the bilde and livewell pumps. it has aanother set of thumb screws that sit close to the floor to hold that area down.

I don't believe there is an effective way, that's why mine's in the garage until the end of the year.

Me again am I the only one that seen this picture of the lund with the top standing straght up [looks like a radar] When I went to the dealer I seen this as well but did not look to see what holds it up.

Nightshift is right. I own a 1900 Pro V SE but the dealer had an IFS and I believe the top folded back and layed on the floor in front of the rear casting deck. This is why the rear passenger grab handles are mounted on the top of the gunnel so they don't interfere with folding the top down. Hope this helps.

If you lay the top down without moving it to the secondary set of mounts (pain) it sits on the casting platform. What you saw at the dealer had it in the floor mounts and not the mounts for having the top up.

In other words, there are mounts to have it lay on the floor (in the way) or on the platform (in the way).

Mine now sits on the floor in the garage (soon to come out) until the fishing is cold and wet.

Let me know if you find a solution.

Good luck,

I own a 1900 IFS. The above posts are correct. If you have the top attached to the track. when the top is down it is in the way. You have to undo the screwws on the tracks and move the mount to another set of mounts down and forward near the deck. This lets the top sit on the floor in front of the rear casting deck/live well. Another alternative is to go to Boat US and buy fittings and pipe and make your own mount to hold the top in the up position, but be carefull when casting! I had my lund on the trailer and stopped buy Boat US in port clinton. Went in and told the guy what I wanted to do. He walked out with me and looked over my rig and in about five minutes I had the parts to keep the top up.

I don't think my boat has a second set of mounts. Where are these and where they on a 2000 ifs?

On my 2002 IFS they are down near the floor in front of the passenger and driver seats. They are not tracks, just a receptor for the screw.

Good luck,
