I've got a Mercury 115 4-stroke with a Lund 1700 Fisherman. I am looking to put a SS prop on it that will give me more top end. I have a kicker outboard and an electrice trolling motor, so I won't use the 115 for slow trolling. Any suggestions as to what I might consider?

What kind of performance current you have and what prop, size pitch you are running with what load?

I am currently running a 17 pitch prop, which is the one that it came equipped with from the dealer. With 2 adults on board (without the kicker) and gear, my top speed on smooth water is 40-41. The dealer told me that according to Lund, my boat with the 115 4-stroke should max out at about 42mph, which is where I am at. If possible, I would like to get a top speed of 45 or so. It's not a major issue, but a few more mph would be welcomed.

Is your 115 a 4-stroke? (I am assuming that it is since you responded). If so, how do you like it? So far, I am very happy with mine. It starts easy and is really quiet.

hey guys I have been off the board for a while... I am running a
Merc 115 4 Stroke on my 2002 1675 (now renamed 1700) Pro Sport. Motor is on 2nd hole. Taking the advice of other similar Hull Lund Owners I have a 3 Blade Mich Wheel Ballistic Stainless in a 13 X 19.. I can get 45 alone with 3 Batteries, Full Gas and Gear.. with 2-3 guys 42-44 is common. I am also able to turn 5800- 6000 RPM all the time at WOT.. I also have a 13 X 19 Solas Alcup 3 Aluminum that is only 2 mph slower.. Keep in mind as it gets colder you will be a little faster.. On a recent 30 degree outing alone with full gas,, 3 batteries gear and livewell I hit 46-47 mph at 6000 RPM. Speeds all GPS
