Can anyone explain why the metal washer on the oil drain plug on my 4 stroke Suzuki needs to be replaced each time the oil is changed. Not that it's a terribly big deal as the motor came with 8 or so replacement washers and I am sure they are relatively inexpensive. I have looked at the old and new and don't see any difference. Any clues?
Thanks

David, I have the same question for my F115 Yamaha. And they are VERY expensive.

5 oil changes and the original gasket still in use. NO problems. No leaks. Just another attempt to get you to consume parts to buy more.
