Have had one for one year and three months. Noticed at the end of last season it would lose bottom every so often. Well now its doing it all the time. Have called the Garmin service line but can never get thru. The book says one year warranty. Anybody out there went thru this and how did you make out with the company? Thanks

It seems like with Garmin support every answer is "thats how it was designed to work". I had a bad transducer and had to get a bit forcefull with them before they replaced it. I still have a problem with mine recording an accurate speed. It can be off by as much as 20mph. The tech guy told me thats how it was designed to work.

Had one of those and it started doing the same thing. Lucky mine started doing it within the 60 days and I returned it to Cabelas for a Lowrance x-85. Pretty soon you won't even be able to use that thing. I think their transducers short out easy or something. Good luck.

Check to see if you have software ver 2.4 If not it may help your problem. I installed it on a friends unit and it did help but it still loses the digital readout of the depth when running in shallow or weedy areas. If you set the chart range manually it will still show the correct bottom readings.
