Sugar Point Resort is great. Bunny and Steve run a great operation.

Battle point lodge around the corner is great as well.
Fine folks and nice accomodations.

Take care

The wife and I have been going to Brindleys Harbor for the last 4 years and have only nice things to say about the service, cabins, location, covered docks, free fish cleaning, etc. Jean and Paris are really great people who go all out to make sure that your stay is really enjoyable.

I would agree with the Sugar Point vote, we have made several trips over the last few years and have always been satisfied with the facilities. Nice harbor, ramp, and cabins. No restaraunt though.

IMHO you found the only problems with Brindelys. It's getting so popular, since Jean and Paris took over 6 years ago that unless you book well in advance you’re usually out of luck.

Did you talk to Paris or Jean directly? Sometimes they have last minute cancellations.

The other thing that I would do is ask Paris which resorts he would recommend, based on you and your wives needs. You will find that he is very knowledgeable and can offer you several alternatives.

Just a little information for anyone looking for a cabin on the east side of Leech. Battle Point Lodge is selling out. They are selling individual lots and will eventually have a gated community with shared beach and harbor facilities. I heard Silver Hook Resort is doing the same. Word has it that Sugar Point Resort will be doing the same thing in a couple years.

A second vote for Baileys Resort www.baileysresort.com

Dana and Cindy are great people. They have everything on-site that you need during your stay.

If I were you, I would stay away from Big Rock resort. I stayed there last year. They tried to charge me for the harbor use even though I didn't bring my boat. Go figure.

We have enjoyed super service and hospitality at Chippewa Lodge on the southeast side of Leech. Excellent safe natural harbor, good cabins, fish cleaning facilities, small play area for kids, reasonably close to Longville for errands, ice cream and turtle races! Good fishing nearby at Bear Island, Boy and Headquarters bays, Pelican Island area, etc.

I will also submit a vote for Adventure North. We were there over Memorial and are going back the end of August.

Two Thumbs UP!

bb,

Here's the number to Battle Point: 218-654-3135. When I was up there the last week in May, they told me they were selling 9 individual homesites, each was $130,000. You would have to build within 3 years. The homes would be about 3000 square feet each. Each person would get a harbor slip, use of the beach, and other common areas. At the time, 4 were already sold.

If you're interested, I would call them directly to get all the specifics. They might even know the number to Silver Hook.
