I"m hoping someone can help me ,I can't seem to find the setting chart that came with the fish seekers it tells which settings you use for different depths! We used them last year out from fairport harbor and did really well!! I partically liked the fact we could run them with inline planner boards. Does anyone have that info or kknow where to get it I don't remember the company name. Iappreciate any help you can give!!! GOOD LUCK & GOOD FISHIN!! Jonboat
JB:
I just bought 4 recently. Taped the chart to my "Precision Trolling" book.
The depth charts depend on line out plus hole location(s)top & bottom to get to desired depth. I don't have it with me, but I'll post the chart after I get home this evening.....
How did they work with the inline boards? Are you using the Off Shore Boards? Tattle Tale Flags? What were you running, cranks, spoons, harnesses? Any info as to tips or advice running these would be appreciated.
TIA,
Phil

The front holes go in 10' increments starting at 10' up to 50', the back holes go in 5' increments starting at 5 for a total of 70' at 100 ( I believe) feet back. Anything over 30' will be hard to pull with in line planers. I've found those numbers are only relative to the fishseeker and are a guideline at best, if you try to match depths with a jet diver or a dipsey you may be quite a bit off.
JB:
Here's the depth guide from the packaging:
Desired Depth Hole Setting Line Out
5' A-1 80'
10' A-2 80'
15' B-2 80'
20' B-3 80'
25' B-4 80'
30' C-2 80'
35' C-3 80'
40' C-4 100'
45' D-3 100'
50' D-4 100'
55' D-5 100'
60' E-3 100'
65' E-4 100'
70' E-5 120'
75' F-4 120'
80' F-5 120'
With the "A" hole being the front lowest and goes up to "F" - to rod and #1 being the back and goes down to #5 - to lure.
I haven't checked it out but here's the company's website:
Davis Instruments - www.davisnet.com
Hope this helps - Good Luck & Good Fishin' :)

JB:
I forgot to add... trolling speed at 2.0 MPH
with 4' to 8' leaders.
One thing I find interesting is this tidbit from the directions:
"...lure will dive to desired depth and level off at desired depth even if more line is let out.."
Makes me scratch my head on that one....????
Goes against Precision Trolling - line out = geater depth (to a point).

I've used them w/offshore boards w/o tattle flags to depths of 65' in the Central basin of Erie pulling harness @ 1.3 mph with good results. I don't want to speak out of turn, but ezmarc might be trolling at faster speeds. Otherwise, I can't explain the differences in opinion and I value his. Good alternative to dipsey's though I'm gaining an appreciation for jet divers in shallower applications. Most of my experience with them has been pulling spoons and rouges at 25-30' in the western basin on flatlines.
I have a question though. The earlier model had a release that clipped into the top holes. When the release pops, the seeker can be retrieved w/little resistance. Accidental releases could be a problem at times. I bought a few later models w/o the release, but they never seemed to flip over for an easy retrieve. The newer ones are collecting dust. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for everyone's responses! Sorry I haven't replied sooner but I use my sisters computer& been to busy to make it over. Anyway Phil, we was offshore tackle planer boards w/o tattle flags& used spinners a friend & I made w/ 2 triple grip treble hooks and big blades! we also use the large spinner cleviss' so we could change the blades w/o changing the whole harness. I also agree w/ JCarp we didn't have any problems with running down to the 50-55 ft. setting but at around the 60ft. setting it did pull hard. We also didn't run them very far out just far enough to get them away from the other lines we could only use 4 rods w/ 2 people. That day was by far the best day I've ever had we caught a 12lb ,2 10lber's,several in the 6-8 lb. range with many 3-5lbs !!!!! I had the 12 mounted the rest was released so maybe w/ any luck someone can catch them again !JCarp, I don't know if it made any difference or not but we used large ball bearing snap swivels attached to the fishseeker it might help it turn over when you have a fish on.Thanks again you guy's helped alot GOOD LUCK & GOOD FISHIN!! I have to eat some words. I was out yesterday (fishing not catching) and played with the fishseekers quite a bit. The offshore boards handled them pretty well at 50' at 2 MPH pulling stinger spoons. According to the chart from their web site, I was +10 feet off on the hole settings. I used sharpies to mark them when I bought them and had them marked wrong all these years. Anything faster than 2 mph still pulled them OK, but pretty far back for my taste. Sorry if I misled anyone. My mistake!
Makes me wonder how many times I've trolled under the fish instead of in the zone. No wonder I never had much luck with them.
Thanks to all, for bringing this up and setting me straight.
