I plan on fishing the walleye derby on the 18-21 for the first time any tips on were to fish and what to fish with would be appriciated. Im launching out of the Black river bay launch on the river in Dexter. thanks, scott

Scott..Is this a locally run derby? My partner and I are planning to fish the USFA tourney there in June and could sure use a warmup. Let me know the details if you would! I'd help you with tips, but I've only fished that area a couple of times and based on our results so far..we won't be much of a threat in any tourney!;-) Good Fishing, Sluggo

The Chamber of commerce puts the derby(18-21) on its for for trout and walleyes pays $2,000 for first place in each category and 10 other places get payed out for each category(Guaranteed payback)the waters you can fish are the golden cresent to the St Lawrence river. The mail in form is in the first page of Aprils Fish Finder(Free magazine most bait and tackle stores carry)Also the Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce puts on a Smallmouth Bass And walleye derby the 24, 25 Of June, that derby you need to sign up at in The Cape CC. Hope this helps you out ,Also Im under the impreesion that both of these derbys draw quite a few people, because they have been going on forever.
