I would like to try Lake Pepin but know absolutely zip about fishing/navigating there. Can someone get me started by suggesting a landing to start from and possibly what direction to point my bow? Thank you in advance.

Lake City is a good centralized place to start, they have a public boat ramp and good parking and a fish cleaning house. While I was there a couple of years ago I pulled down to the fish cleaning house the first evening and a couple of old timers were in there cleaning fish. All 2 to 3 pounders. They told me that the Maiden Rock area was doing really good on Purple and White CC Rattle Shads In 8 to 12 feet and they were not pulling my leg. It was really good info. and it might have taken me days to figure it out. The local people there are very friendly and there's a few local guides that could get you started out on the right foot if you wanted.
Hope this helps.

I would try www.sauger.com as they focus on the upper Mississippi and usually have Pepin info galore.

Good luck

Check out the pool 4 website [Red Wing-Lake Pepin-Wabasha areas] at www.fishtheriver.com for message board info and Guide Reports. An excellant website for pool 4 info. Bill
