Abe, the mayfly hatch is in progress and has been since early this week (June 10). There has been more larva on the water than flies on the mainland. Larva has been more inshore than off shore. We have been fishing north, up near the canadian border and have not been much effected by the larva so far. Water temperature was 65 degrees on my sensor Tuesday. Weather bouy off vermillion say 70 as of this evening. I have issued several reports regarding the mayflies on my web site listed below.
Hope this helps.

A usual consistant when the mayflies comes is: Use cooper colored stingers and short chunks of worms on worm harnesses to catch walleye. Not always, but a lot of times.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-15-01 AT 02:03AM (CST)[p]Thanks, my plans are for the 22nd & 23rd of July and with the cold spring I didn't want to hit the hatch. My group hit it 3 years in a row so we changed to July.:-)
