Daiwa Tournament Series Spinning Reels

Between my sons and myself, we own three Daiwa Tournament Series SS 700 Spinning Reels. With two of the three reels the bails have broken. They broke at the bend, where the bail attaches to the line roller. These reels are not abused or mis-treated. Other than this problems, we think these reels are great. Has any one else had this problem ? Thanks

Never had a problem. I have six that have seen some very tough tournament use over the last five years and I've have never had a failure. I won't use anything else. There's not a reel on the market that's lighter, and the drag on the SS's is the smoothest most responsive drag there is. I think you made a top choice, sorry to hear you've had some problems. Once they're repaired I'm sure you'll continue to enjoy them.

I have the 1300, never have had a problem with it. The absolute best reel I have ever owned! Just cant figure out why they dropped $40.00 in price, although I wont argue.

I own eight o the 1300 SS reels and have never had a problem with any of them and there used hard and have never had any maintainence of any kind.Most of these reels are 6-8 years old.I'm planning on buying two more.
