Call me crazy. I'm not a dealer for the stuff, but can think of a million uses. I just watched a show on TNN where they Linex'ed the whole frame of a truck. Great idea, and it got me to thinking...

They mentioned on the show that the actual finish can be bumpy (as it is for bedliner purposes) or smooth depending on the way it is applied.

What about shooting some Line-X on a boat as a keel guard? I bet they could tape it off and blast it for under $50 i would suspect. I'm thinking the same dimensions as a Hamby's, although you could actually customize the area if you wanted to. I think that Duplicolor even makes something similar in a can, but I'd prefer to have the pros do it.

So, am I out in left field?

If memory serves me , the same concept was talked about last year in another thread. There were a couple of guys who used the roll on bedliner stuff (at Cabelas, etc) or just like the Duplicolor (which I have on my pickup bed and has worked well for 4 years) as a keel protector.

One nice thing about using bedliner material is that you can add to it as it wears off.

It sounds like it might be a workable low cost keel protector..
