Changed out my water pump impellers last weekend on my twin F-115s. To prepare myself, I tried to find a write up on the process on the web. Unfortunately, the closest that I could locate was one on the Merc 3.0 L from Sherm’s Tech Tips. So, using that info and the Yamaha shop manual, I went at it. Not bad. Took me ~1.5 hours on the first and a little longer on the second since I had to replace the base plate, gasket, and cup. Anyway, while traveling this past week, I took the time to write up a procedure. There are no pictures since I didn’t take any and the Yamaha shop manual is very clear about reproducing their material. I would like to offer it up to others for review and use but will need a suggestion as to a web page to post it so it can be downloaded.

If it's just a text file i can probably host it. Shouldn't be much bandwidth at all. Email it to me at festo@clanmage.com No promises but i'll see what i can do after seeing what you have.

If you ever need a repair manual for just about any type of motor, whether it be outboard, inboard, I/O, auto or small engine, go visit your friendly neighborhood Library. I found a manual for my very old Honda (1976)7.5 hp, and also, for my 1999 Merc. 150 hp. They've got a pretty good selection, and you can keep them for two weeks.

I know water pump impellers are to be replaced as maintenance... how many hours did you have on yours, what kind of use/climate is your boat subject too, and was there obvious wear and tear on the impellers? Curious as to what you found
