Tracker Boat
01-26-2003, 09:08 AM
I was at the Pitt. boat show on Sat. looking in general. I saw the tracker boat line there and to me it looks much improved. At one time I was lead to believe they were a "weak" for lack of better words.
Im In the market for a smaller 14-16' boat for elect. only and 18hp limitted lakes.
The boats are all welded now which i know the debate thats has gone on so wont go there. But the V14 Super Guide really appealed to me for a 14' boat with 74" beam nice console, deep, storage and livewell,
Casting platfor. and the entire boat is .090 5052 alum. BMT for $6696
It just seemed like a 16' with all the "goodies"

Any thoughts or advice.

Thanks all

Tracker makes a fine boat. I feel on this board they do take a little bid of a hit that may not always be warrented. People do have issues, like all boats - read some of the posts, but most is factory support and they do need work in that department. I run both a LUND and a Tracker Nitro. I have been lucky with no problems with either one yet.

I feel the Tracker is a great value boat with good options as a standard. It floats and will get you to the fish just like any other boat on the market. If the floor plan and budget works well for you - go for it. You will & should be happy with that. The biggest thing in my opinion is that you buy from a dealer you know will work with you on issues that may come up - cause they do.

You know what I find funny? That people have a problem with their new boat(what ever it is and what ever brand it is)and try to get service from the manufacturer and don't - they blame the manufacture which I understand. But what about the dealer???? You are a single buyer to that manufacturer. The dealer is a 30+ customer a year to the same manufacturer. A-lot of what you can get done and how fast is on the dealer. He holds the cards and his opinion on the situation has a-lot of pull. I am not saying that it is right - but I feel it is true. That is why I suggest shopping the dealer as much as shopping the boat.

I am done with my lecture...
