So i'll finally be putting my money down on a new boat probably the 1st day of the boat show here Feb 12th. So i called the dealer yesterday and asked if they had the flier that they have every year printed up yet. He said no but it will be out soon but he told me they were going to have some really good discounts on some 2002 models at the show. So i've seen they have a 2002 Pro-V 1775 in the showroom right now. They want $17,500 for this boat with a 115 Johnson on in. So i'm thinking they are gonna try and move this boat out with a good discount at the show. I would get the 115 Yamaha on it though. The 2003 Mr Pike with the 115 is basically the same price. So the question is do i switch away from the 2003 Mr Pike and go for the 2002 1775 Pro-V assuming that with the discounted price i can get the 115 on it and still pay the same i would pay to get the 2003 Mr Pike. Is the 2002 Pro-V that much better than a 2003 Mr. Pike?
Thanks guys.

If it were me,.....and I could get the '02 Pro-V with the 115 Yam, for the same price as the '03 Pike I would go for it. I think you have found a good price on a Pro-V. I believe the biggest diffence in the Pro-V and the Pike is the storage space and slightly heavier hull on the Pro-V. If the price they gave you is BEFORE the boat show discount I wouldnt think about it too long. How about accessories. At the prices you listed, are they pre rigged? They are both very nice boats. Have Fun!

If the dealer is a Mercury dealer talk to him about upgrading to the 135 Opti. Merc is offering a $1500 rebate on that motor right now due to the fact that they can't get any 115 four strokes. My tourney partner has a 1775 with a 135 Opti and smart guages. Great top end, and will troll down to 1.6 on GPS. Just a thought.

Looking at my 1999 brochure, the Pike,is listed at 17'2",with 92" beam. The Pro-v is 17'6" and 85 1/2" beam.the 7" beam difference is alot.the size of the rail, approx.More room inside.Tuff choice, mine would be the biggest bow area. Can't tell which has that. Hey,good luck, and enjoy the BEST boat. My Angler is a step down from the Pike, and it's a beauty.

HMMM. The 2003 Pro-v 1775 is 17'2" with a 92 inch beam. I guess they shortened it but made it wider since 99. Wonder what the 2002 measurements are? Now i wish i hadn't thrown out my 2002 catalog.

LundBob:
I have the 2002 catalog. If you need any info out of it let me know. If you really want it, I could drop it in the mail for you.

Personally I'd say to go with the 2002 1775 Pro-V. However, I'd max it out with a 150hp and not a 115hp. I only say this from personal experience. I under powered a boat once and I was always asking myself "I wonder how this rig would run and handle if I had maxed it out...?". I also took a hit on the resale because it was not maxed out. Personally I'll never "under power" a boat again. I'm not trying to say that the 115hp will be "under powering" the 1775, but it will reach it's full potential with the 150hp.
