i used Off Shore/w flag for the first time. putting a deep diver on 100' line then the board, the tail of the board hangs so low in the water the beveled front is up out of the water. also tried a medium diver on 100' with a snap weight at 50'. same effect. the angle of the line to the board with that of the boat is maybe 30 degrees max. doesn't seem to matter how much line i let out after the board nor whether i raise or lower rod tip. is this what i should expect or am i somehow rigging it wrong? line is to the 1st clip, a little slack, and then into the 2nd clip. what is a "Y" rig as an alternative to this method? thanks in advance.

Just a thought...is your board for some reason missing the weight that sits in the indentation at the bottom backside of the board? Although the boards do tend to tilt up, it should not be doing what you say it is doing...deep divers or not. They should "cut" the water on a pretty level run.

What was your speed? It sounds like you may be running over 2 mph. They will do that at higher speeds, but with no adverse effect.

Are you using it with the tattle flag?
If you are it shouldn't run with the front of it that far in the air.

If you aren't using the tattle flag, I've had mine run with the nose out of the water.
