As many of you fathers did, I spent the weekend with some of my kids, and their kids. I have a 5 year old grandson, who if I have to say so, is pretty sharp. Well, we were sitting around the grill, and as we were waiting for the goodies to get finely BBQed, the conversation turned to the weather. Was sunny, and suddenly turned black, windy, and very wet. As we spoke of the change in the weather, my grandson said he was going to be a weatherman when he grows up. Well, that prompted a few smart remarks about how bad the weathermen predict the weather. My grandson said that wasn't going to be a problem when he gets to be the weatherman. I asked "why not", and was told this tail. He said, "I have a weather bat". OK I said, what is a weather bat?? I was told that he has an old orange wiffle bat, and if he wants to know the weather, all he has to do is step out on the porch, hold the bat out from under the roof, and if it is "really" orange, the sun is shining, if it isn't really orange, it is cloudy. He also said that if the bat is "wavey", the wind is blowing, and if it is wet when he brings it back under the roof, then it is raining.
Well, this my not be science, but I can tell you this, he is more accurate than the other "weathermen"
He also said, "the bat has really been wet alot".
