I need to remove some stickers from my windows and was wondering what the best way to get them off. I have heard to take a heat gun and they weill peal right off. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Troy Patterson

You heard right. A heat gun with a scraper or putty knife works great. In fact the only other way I know is a scraper, elbow grease, and a lot of cussing. Just be careful not to overheat surrounding areas and melt rubber or damage paint.

Any remaining adhesive can be removed with rubbing alchol or a shot of WD -40 and light rag.

What would we do without WD-40 ??

Just use a new razor blade for the majority of it then clean the rest with a good cleaner. It's fast, easy and safe.

If you do not have a heat gun a standard hair blow dryer works fine. Also Goof Off works great on the glue and decal residues.

Be carefull with that heat gun and that WD-40. Make sure not to use the heat gun after you sprayed the WD-40 it is HIGHLY FLammable.

Good luck and be carefull

laquer thinner works great! (assuming it is a GLASS window)

Windows? glass or plexi ? Be careful, scrapers and putty knives can scratch the surface of the window. Heat guns are pretty hot and the high heat might crack the glass or cause lamination seperation if it is an A.N.S.I. Z 26 A.S.1 type safety glass windshield. Laquer thinners will melt plexi. If it was my window, I'd take the slow gentle approach using WD 40 and a hair dryer. If that didn't work I'd be asking the local glass shops for some advice. Another thing that might work overnight is cold cream. It should slowly soften the glue and it is thick enough to stay where you put it, even on a vertical surface. It takes those anti slip bath tub flowers off.
