The transom height on the prov 18 is 20 inches and the 19 has 25 inches, I am considering both, I may have to go the 18 just to fit it in my garage. My question is to the big water guys. I fish alot of Lake Erie and Saginaw Bay tournaments. I know rough is rough no matter what kind of seas are out there.
Anybody think this will be a big difference?
Thanks Dan

I couldn't tell you for certain that it will make a big difference, but I believe it will. What I can tell you is that I have a 25" transom on my 2025 and it's still not deep enough in big water. I'd go with the deepest transom you can still fit in the garage if you intend to play a lot on the big water.
Following seas while trolling always make me uneasy when they roll into the splash well. They don't do it nearyl as often on this boat as they did on my dad's Pro V 1700. I think some of it has to do with the length of the boat too. Longer boats span waves more and I think his shorter boat on Erie swells made the situation worse?

I'd still go with the bigger boat. More depth wont hurt! Just my .02 worth, are you considering the IFS? It's really nice on Saginaw or Erie or anyother big body of water when it's nasty. My wife likes it too so she can get out of the wind or sun with the top up?

I would personally go with splash guards, irregardless of transom height for added safety and to lessen the pucker factor.

I would go with the 25" if at all possible. Ive been on Minnewaska (7500 acres and shallow) on windy days and you will NEVER have too much transom when the pucker factor is up.

Thanks, I bought the 1900 couldn't get the IFS in the garage though as it is will have to remove the windshields off the consoles.
