Hey I am looking for decent all round fishing boat and found Nitro that I really like, but I don't know much about them. I don't want to spend a lot of money and am trying to choose between an older ranger or newer Nitro. Can anyone give me some insight on the quality of the nitro? Any information or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Greg

Greg,
How about a little more info? What kind of fishing will you be doing? Number of anglers in the boat at one time? Kind of water you will be fishing? Year of boat/motor and size of motor?
I don't have a Nitro but maybe someone else can help you out. Any thoughts guys??

Im not a Nitro owner myselve but if you can let us know some specifics on the boat your looking at I can help you out. I really looked hard at the Nitro's at my local Tracker Dealer. A few questions you might be able to answer for me on the Nitro your looking at are
1. Year of boat
2. Motor Brand, Year, and H.P.
3. Electronics
4. Any other extra's, Trolling Motors etc...
Also theres a good website you can check out w/. all Nitro & Tracker owners! www.nitroowners.com Check that out! Good Luck!

I own a Lund Prov 1900SE and a 1997 NITRO 185SF. I have also owned a Ranger 619 before my LUND. So I have a diverse ownership backround the last couple years. So I may be able to help. What kind of info are you looking for?

I fish for all species. Mostly crappie and walleye. I rarely would have more than two anglers in the boat. I live in Kansas and the waters here are good size but not huge 2000-10000 acres. I most interested in the quality of the boat itself, hull, trailer, motor. The motor is a 2001 Mercury 75HP 2-stroke outboard. Any opinions are welcome.
Thanks again

If this is the style boat you are looking at it is a great boat. 10year hull warranty, hand laid hulls and fully rigged with trolling motor and fishfinder, batteries and custom trailer. It has a 84" beam so it is stable. You might also want to look at the Tournament V 18
by Tracker. It is aluminum and has a few more features. If you have any question e-mail me, I have a 2002 left that could save you money

Hull wise I have had no problems at all. Even the interior and the trailer have performed very well to perfect. The only complaint I have is the hoses and livewells - they leak and crack all the time. Every year I fix about two connections. Either the thread connection on the livewells or a connection for the speedo or water pressure gauge. Last year it was the livewell supply line just cracked mid run. Very cheap crap im my opinion
Tracker needs to make some changes in that department... the funny part is that they don't cover it under the warrenty or the extended warrrenty.
The motor I cannot comment on. Mine is the 2+2 115hp model.
I am happy besides the hose thing. The boat handles like a dream!!!
